What is CEIP?
CEIP offers financing to residential property owners to help with the upfront costs of energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades. CEIP offers homeowners:
- Financing for up to 100% of eligible project costs.
- Competitive interest rates (rate is 3%).
- Long repayment terms (up to 20 years).
- The option to repay in full at any time without penalty.
- An incentive of $500 toward total project costs for the first 39 projects.
- Repayment collected through your property tax bill.
The program is administered by Alberta Municipalities.

Columbia Basin Trust Non-Profit SMART Grants
NOW OPEN – CBT’s Non-Profit SMART Grants will pay for 75% of a Solar Array installation!
Non-Profit SMART Grants support Basin non-profits and First Nations to increase their energy efficiency, generate renewable energy, adapt to the impacts of climate change, and/or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Eligible non-profit organizations include but are not limited to:
- Social service agencies, organizations or societies
- BC Métis societies, associations and Chartered Communities
- Food banks/food recovery initiatives
- Libraries/reading centers
- Seniors societies or associations
- Community halls, visitor centres
- Arts, culture, and heritage venues (theatres, galleries and museums)
- Non-profit societies that operate childcare facilities.
Deadlines for two-stage application process:
- Submit an expression of interest (EOI) application by May 9, 2024, at 2:00 pm PT /
3:00 pm MT. - If selected to move forward, you will hear from us by July 4, 2024, and will be
connected with the Trust’s program advisor (Advisor). The deadline for the full
application is October 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm PT / 3:00 pm MT.

Clean Technology Investment Tax Credit:
A refundable tax credit of up to 30% on capital cost of investments made by taxable entities in wind, solar PV and energy-storage technologies will be available for claim on 2024 Tax Returns. This Credit will be available retroactively for eligible project spending back to March 28, 2023, and will be available until 2034. Learn More.
CleanBC Go Electric:
Eligible homeowners can get a rebate of up to 50% (up to $350) to install a Level 2 (240 volt) charging station in your single-family home, duplex, or townhouse with a private garage or dedicated parking area. Visit the link to learn more about CleanBC.
